Abstract:

We discuss a novel method of data filtering for an optimal reconstruction of the input signal in resonant gw detectors assuming that the signal has finite duration. We propose the estimate, by optimal Wiener filtering, of the amplitude of the Kharhunen--Loeve components of the signals. An application of the method to the reduction of the data from a room temperature antenna is presented.
